FAQ

Everything you want to know before you start.

Real questions from healthcare professionals who've looked at the platform. If yours isn't here, reach out.

Is Continuum only for physicians?
No — and that's the point. Continuum was built for every healthcare professional: physicians, nurses, PTs, OTs, pharmacists, PAs, NPs, CRNAs, respiratory therapists, dietitians, social workers, and health system leaders. All career stages, all disciplines, all settings.
How are mentors vetted?
Mentors verify their credentials (NPI / NPPES name-match where applicable), complete our Mentorship Academy training, and set explicit capacity limits so they never take on more mentees than they can serve. Quality feedback loops — session ratings and outcome tracking — are rolling out through the private beta.
Is CME/CE credit available?
Not yet — but it's a priority on our roadmap. Continuum is not currently accredited to issue CME (ACCME) or CE credit. We plan to pursue partnerships with accredited CME providers so that mentorship sessions, development milestones, and peer learning can count toward CME, CE, and MOC requirements in a documented, auditable way. Until then, we track your learning activity and generate session summaries you can use as part of your own portfolio. We'll announce accreditation milestones as they land.
What does the AI actually do?
(1) Mentor matching across 14 weighted compatibility signals; (2) CV analysis that extracts your strengths and gaps onto your profile; (3) shared session notes that keep the relationship's memory. An AI coaching layer between sessions is in development.
Can I be both a mentor and a mentee?
Absolutely — and we expect many members will be. A senior resident might mentor a medical student while being mentored themselves by an attending. The platform manages both relationships simultaneously, with separate dashboards, journeys, and metrics for each role.
How much time does mentorship take?
Most pairs meet 30–60 minutes per month; messaging and shared session notes keep the relationship efficient between conversations.
How is this different from finding a mentor on LinkedIn?
LinkedIn gives you access; Continuum gives you structure. Cold outreach has a low response rate, no vetting, no agenda framework, no progress tracking, and no accountability on either side. Continuum pairs verified mentors with mentees based on fit, provides session structure, tracks progress toward defined goals, and — once accreditation partnerships land — will document sessions toward CME and CE requirements. None of which LinkedIn does.
Is my data private and HIPAA-compliant?
Your data is private, and the platform is built HIPAA-aware by design — but we're precise about claims: Continuum is not a HIPAA covered entity, and we do not collect or store PHI. The Platform covers career development, not patient care, and mentorship conversations should never include patient information. Data is encrypted at rest and in transit, and we run on infrastructure (Supabase, Netlify) that maintains SOC 2 Type II certification. For institutional deployments that may involve PHI, see our BAA page for current status — BAA execution happens as part of institutional onboarding.
What if I can't find a mentor in my specific niche?
Our matching algorithm handles adjacent-specialty mentorship — a hand surgeon mentoring a plastic surgery fellow, or a pediatric NP mentoring a family NP new grad. We also actively recruit mentors in underrepresented niches. If your specialty isn't covered, tell us — Baker, our founder, reads these personally and builds the mentor network around what members ask for. Reach him anytime at [email protected].
When can I get started?
Right now. Continuum is in free early access during private beta — just sign up and you're in; there's no waitlist. Early members receive priority mentor matching, founding-member recognition (preferred rates locked in if paid tiers eventually launch), and direct input into the product roadmap.
